Welcome to Dylan's corner of the new The Heart of a Hero. This section will house all my Dylan fic's, fan art of Dylan, and links to my favorite Andromeda sites (most of which are Dylan centered of course!). Eventually, I'll put up a biography as well. . . . Maybe.

    I love the Dylan character for a lot of reasons. Here's a guy who, literally, lost everything in the blink of an eye. One minute he was the Captain of the biggest, baddest, Common Wealth starship in the known worlds, then five minutes later he's three hundred and three years in the future. Everything and everyone he knew and loved was gone. His parents, his fiance, his beloved Common Wealth, even his home world. He didn't even get a chance to say goodbye.

   After all that, most people would have given up. But not Dylan. He took a rag tag bunch of petty thieves and cargo runners and a self-serving mercenary and turned them into a formidable crew. Some might even say they became a family. With a single-minded determination, and the help of his crew, he did what no-one (even his crew at times) thought was possible. He rebuilt the systems Common Wealth. Along the way, he fought to protect and defend those who couldn't do so for themselves. Even those who expressed no desire to join the Common Wealth.

   Then, when the Common Wealth started to turn on him, did he give up? Did he throw in the towel and say, "Well, at least I tried"? Did he stop trying to help people? No. He kept on fighting for and defending the people who can't protect themselves. He was determined not to let the Common Wealth be ripped apart from the inside out.

   Dylan tries hard to play by the rules, but isn't afraid to tell the Powers That Be where they can stick their rules if he doesn't believe what is happening is just. He does whatever he has too to protect the people he cares about and believes in. Even to the point of putting himself in danger. Dylan will always try to do the right thing, even when it isn't the popular choice. Even when it's something everyone else thinks he's nuts for trying to do. He has a strong moral code and does what he has to to stick to it.

   When he lost everything for a second time, he kept on fighting. He never gave up hope that they would get back to the known worlds. Even when his whole crew turned on him, he kept fighting. Dylan never stopped believing in or gave up on them. Not even when they gave up on themselves. He's serious when he needs to be, but he also knows how to have fun.

   Dylan Hunt is, in my opinion, a true hero.

   As Captain Hunt would say.... Let's bring it!
